Beautiful Wedding at Home in Leicestershire

Are you currently researching wedding photography in Leicestershire for your upcoming wedding day?  This was another beautiful wedding I photographed at home in Leicestershire this year.   I first met Lottie when I photographed her and her two sisters and brother at their home a couple of years ago, as a surprise for her dad’s 50th Birthday.  It was lovely to be back at their beautiful home again in Peckleton to photograph her wedding day.  I arrived to find Lottie and her sisters looking after their mum, doing her make up and hair, so commenced photography to capture the beautiful wedding day details.  At this point in the day, I work quietly and with minimal fuss as I am very aware that there is already an awful lot going on during bridal preparations and I definitely don’t want to get in the way and certainly never try to take over.

Lottie had her two sisters and 2 friends as bridesmaids and when I first arrived they were enjoying pastries and champagne.  All was calm, organised and relaxed.  A good start to the day.

Lottie’s family home is quite literally opposite Peckleton Church and as you can see from the image below, it was about a 40 metre walk from their home, over to the church.   Covertec Structures provided the beautiful marquee in the garden and it was a pleasure to work with them again in 2016.  They do a wonderful job and their bespoke marquees always look stunning.

I love this photograph of Lottie, looking over the garden at the view and maybe contemplating her special day ahead.

It was full on with supportive bridesmaids and mum helping Lottie into her dress and helping with her hair etc.

I seem to have a bit of an obsession in creating a beautiful shot of brides putting on their wedding day shoes.  I was especially keen to get an image of Lottie and those wonderful legs!  I had extreme leg envy photographing this particular bride in her own bedroom putting on her stunning shoes.

This is a shot of Daniel and his groomsmen walking up the lane from the house just past the church where we did a few shots of the guys with the amazing rolls royce provided for the day by Daniel’s uncle.  Although the car wasn’t used during the day it was great to get a few shots.  The wet weather didn’t seem to dampen the spirits either.

I adore this photograph of Lottie having help from her sister to put on her bridal hair piece.  Look at that smile!  Gorgeous.

Often we don’t get much time before leaving the home / venue to get married, but 5-10 minutes is enough time to take some beautiful bridal portraits.  I don’t style my brides, and much prefer to talk and give just a little direction when it comes to posture etc.  This is a very emotional time of the day, just before the bride leaves to get married and I find it better to keep the situation calm and relaxed.

A few shots with Lottie and her mum and sisters just before heading down stairs to see dad.

We had to make our way over to the church in a little rain, but as you can see from these shots with Lottie and her dad, it didn’t bother her one bit.  One thing I always tell my brides is never to stress about weather on a wedding day.  This is the UK after all and we should never have high hopes for perfect weather.

This image was taken from the very back of the church during the ceremony with my zoom lens and I just love the details in this shot, the lace in Lottie’s wedding dress, the pretty pink nails and the order of service held by Daniel.  Lottie loves this photograph too.

We still had the rain to contend with when we left the church to make our way back to the bride’s home just down the lane  but as you can see from these photographs there were still lots of smiles and nobody seemed to care… Lots of umbrellas too!

I absolutely love these confetti shots.  We asked the guests to make their way on to the lane which runs alongside the church and Lottie’s home and we had a lot of fun capturing confetti in the rain!  Fabulous…

This was the view from Lottie’s bedroom over rolling countryside and of course that amazing marquee.  We were very lucky at this point in time as the rain had stopped so we grabbed the opportunity to do the formal group shots.

Just 10 minutes was all that was required to cover off the couple photographs.  A little walk to the front of the house, followed by some photographs at the back of her home with the rolling countryside all around us.  Then straight into the marquee to celebrate with their family and friends.  Again,  I prefer to shoot these images informally with minimal direction and also using my zoom lens so that I am not too close to the couple to make them feel uneasy.

Fabulous speeches and lots of noise and laughter… I especially enjoyed Lottie’s dad’s speech – very funny anecdotes and many laugh out loud moments.

Some of these image below are shot using a video light which gives a beautiful warm glow.

And finally, some images of the first dance and of course the disco dancing craziness that usually follows.  Again, another part of a wedding day I love to capture before I make my way home.

Lottie and Daniel’s wedding day was a perfect wedding day at home in Leicestershire and another wedding that I won’t forget.    Wishing you many happy days Lottie and Daniel.   For your wedding photography in Leicestershire please don’t hesitate to contact me and I can provide you with my prices.  I am also happy to meet with you to discuss your wedding day plans, your inspirations and requirements for your  wedding day photography.
