Beautiful Wedding at Home in Leicestershire

Are you currently researching wedding photography in Leicestershire for your upcoming wedding day?  This was another beautiful wedding I photographed at home in Leicestershire this year.   I first met Lottie when I photographed her and her two sisters and brother at their home a couple of years ago, as a surprise for her dad’s 50th Birthday.  It was lovely to be back at their beautiful home again in Peckleton to photograph her wedding day.  I arrived to find Lottie and her sisters looking after their mum, doing her make up and hair, so commenced photography to capture the beautiful wedding day details.  At this point in the day, I work quietly and with minimal fuss as I am very aware that there is already an awful lot going on during bridal preparations and I definitely don’t want to get in the way and certainly never try to take over.

Lottie had her two sisters and 2 friends as bridesmaids and when I first arrived they were enjoying pastries and champagne.  All was calm, organised and relaxed.  A good start to the day.

Lottie’s family home is quite literally opposite Peckleton Church and as you can see from the image below, it was about a 40 metre walk from their home, over to the church.   Covertec Structures provided the beautiful marquee in the garden and it was a pleasure to work with them again in 2016.  They do a wonderful job and their bespoke marquees always look stunning.

I love this photograph of Lottie, looking over the garden at the view and maybe contemplating her special day ahead.

It was full on with supportive bridesmaids and mum helping Lottie into her dress and helping with her hair etc.

I seem to have a bit of an obsession in creating a beautiful shot of brides putting on their wedding day shoes.  I was especially keen to get an image of Lottie and those wonderful legs!  I had extreme leg envy photographing this particular bride in her own bedroom putting on her stunning shoes.

This is a shot of Daniel and his groomsmen walking up the lane from the house just past the church where we did a few shots of the guys with the amazing rolls royce provided for the day by Daniel’s uncle.  Although the car wasn’t used during the day it was great to get a few shots.  The wet weather didn’t seem to dampen the spirits either.

I adore this photograph of Lottie having help from her sister to put on her bridal hair piece.  Look at that smile!  Gorgeous.

Often we don’t get much time before leaving the home / venue to get married, but 5-10 minutes is enough time to take some beautiful bridal portraits.  I don’t style my brides, and much prefer to talk and give just a little direction when it comes to posture etc.  This is a very emotional time of the day, just before the bride leaves to get married and I find it better to keep the situation calm and relaxed.

A few shots with Lottie and her mum and sisters just before heading down stairs to see dad.

We had to make our way over to the church in a little rain, but as you can see from these shots with Lottie and her dad, it didn’t bother her one bit.  One thing I always tell my brides is never to stress about weather on a wedding day.  This is the UK after all and we should never have high hopes for perfect weather.

This image was taken from the very back of the church during the ceremony with my zoom lens and I just love the details in this shot, the lace in Lottie’s wedding dress, the pretty pink nails and the order of service held by Daniel.  Lottie loves this photograph too.

We still had the rain to contend with when we left the church to make our way back to the bride’s home just down the lane  but as you can see from these photographs there were still lots of smiles and nobody seemed to care… Lots of umbrellas too!

I absolutely love these confetti shots.  We asked the guests to make their way on to the lane which runs alongside the church and Lottie’s home and we had a lot of fun capturing confetti in the rain!  Fabulous…

This was the view from Lottie’s bedroom over rolling countryside and of course that amazing marquee.  We were very lucky at this point in time as the rain had stopped so we grabbed the opportunity to do the formal group shots.

Just 10 minutes was all that was required to cover off the couple photographs.  A little walk to the front of the house, followed by some photographs at the back of her home with the rolling countryside all around us.  Then straight into the marquee to celebrate with their family and friends.  Again,  I prefer to shoot these images informally with minimal direction and also using my zoom lens so that I am not too close to the couple to make them feel uneasy.

Fabulous speeches and lots of noise and laughter… I especially enjoyed Lottie’s dad’s speech – very funny anecdotes and many laugh out loud moments.

Some of these image below are shot using a video light which gives a beautiful warm glow.

And finally, some images of the first dance and of course the disco dancing craziness that usually follows.  Again, another part of a wedding day I love to capture before I make my way home.

Lottie and Daniel’s wedding day was a perfect wedding day at home in Leicestershire and another wedding that I won’t forget.    Wishing you many happy days Lottie and Daniel.   For your wedding photography in Leicestershire please don’t hesitate to contact me and I can provide you with my prices.  I am also happy to meet with you to discuss your wedding day plans, your inspirations and requirements for your  wedding day photography.

Lucy & Mark’s Potters Marston Wedding

Leicestershire Wedding Photography | Lucy & Mark’s Potters Marston Wedding

It’s not often that I share weddings on the blog, simply because I’m so busy shooting them and don’t get time to write about them.  Lucy & Mark’s wedding was so beautiful and unique that I just had to share!

Potters Marston is a tiny village in Leicestershire, with an even tinier chapel at just 38 feet long and I now hold the unique honour of being the wedding photographer of the first ever wedding at one of the smallest churches in the county! The chapel actually dates back to the 15th century but it seems that Lucy & Mark are the first couple to actually get married there.

The chapel is in the grounds of Lucy’s parents’ home and the reception was held in a gorgeous marquee provided by Covertec Structures. Flowers By Stephanie did an amazing job (as I’m sure you’ll see from the photos) of decorating everywhere with flowers and creating the beautiful bouquets for Lucy and her bridesmaids,  her floral decor was just perfect for a wedding in such a rural location.

As you can see the weather was just perfect, the wedding was beautiful and the day was relaxed and full of fun and love. These are my absolute favourite sorts of weddings, perfectly suited to my style of wedding photography which is informal and relaxed, capturing the story of the day as it unfolds. I also love to create beautiful portraits of the bride and groom on their big day and what could be better than having a field of golden wheat and perfect light, ideal for Lucy and Mark to take a little quiet time together after the wedding breakfast.

I hope you enjoy the photos and if you are planning your own Leicestershire wedding and would like to have a chat about wedding photography why not give me a call on 01455 233224.

Stratford Manor Wedding

Another lovely wedding day with Huw and Regina.  This is the first bit of time I have had in many months, to blog some of the gorgeous weddings I have photographed this year.  Huw and Regina’s Stratford Manor wedding was a really lovely day with a truly stunning bride, who was so photogenic and lovely at the same time.  Huw and Regina have been together for a few years now.  Regina (better known as Regi) is from Eastern Europe and it was really lovely to see two families coming together from completely different sides of Europe.  Despite the language difficulties with Regina’s family…  they  were so lovely to work with.

I love captured moments just like this..

Client Testimonials

I am a firm believer in ‘word of mouth’ referrals and the majority of my enquiries and bookings come from client testimonials.  First and foremost I try my upmost to provide a photography experience that is relaxed and fun.   I understand that having professional photographs taken can be a little daunting and something that most people do not experience very often.  I have met adults who have never been photographed professionally since since their wedding day…  And often children are only photographed professionally for their yearly school photograph.

I offer a truly personal service every step of the way for all of my clients.  From your initial consultation, right through to handing over your photographs, you will only liaise with me, Lesley Bee.

These are reviews posted on my Lesley Bee Photography business page following photo shoots with clients.  You can view these actual reviews HERE

I will always keep in touch with Lesley as she helped keep me going, more than a photographer 🙂 ! Couldn’t of asked for better. And as for her assistant, well you’ll see. If you want all your guests laughing…. book!
All of our family and friends also agree when I say you added some spirit to keep our day going.

She’s photographed several weddings that I have worked with couples on and the outcome of all these shoots were fantastic.
Fabulous lady – can’t recommend her and her photography skills enough!”  Rachel Palmer

Wedding Photography Stratford Manor

Another lovely couple and fantastic wedding photography at Stratford Manor. Huw and Regi were married at the Stratford Manor Hotel and it was really sweet to also witness the joining together of Regi’s family from Hungary with Huw’s family from Wales.  I’ve not photographed a wedding before whereby the speeches were read out both in English and Hungarian.  Always a first for everything… 🙂

Co-ordinating the group photographs and giving directions was sometimes a little harder due to the language barrier but on the whole it was relatively easy with a bit of arm waving and help from Regi giving direction to her family for the group photographs.

We were so very lucky with the weather and although we had a few little showers throughout the day, in between we had the most glorious sunshine and together with such an easy going couple, a gorgeous doggy and friendly, welcoming family and friends, it really was a lovely day.  BEE happy Mr and Mrs Thomas… xxx

Wedding Photography Tips – The Best Time of Day for Great Photographs

I often chat to couples planning their wedding  about the style of photography they are looking for.  More often than not I am told that they want natural, relaxed, fly-on-the-wall style photography alongside their must have group photographs with their closest family and friends.  And do you know what?  – I couldn’t agree more.  It is so important to have a record of your family and friends who attended your wedding day.  However, I always recommend that  formal group photographs are kept to a minimum, thus avoiding having to stand in a line all day long. Who wants to do that?  You should be enjoying the company of your family and friends and sipping champagne…

At most of my weddings that I photograph, I will take a full wedding party photograph with the bride, groom and all the guests.  This is the perfect solution to get around having a record of everyone who was with you on your special day.  We can then concentrate on group photographs of your immediate family and closest friends…  Simple!

However, when it comes to wedding photography tips I have many to share with my clients and I will always spend time with the couple to get an idea of their ideas and inspirations for their special day.  My two favourite times of the day for photography are during the bridal preparations and after the wedding breakfast.

Bridal preparations are such a lovely time to capture beautiful, emotive photographs of the bride with her parents and bridesmaids.  It’s such a special time and quite often ‘the calm before the storm’…  Bridal preparations are such an important time of the day.  It is also the time of the day when the bride will be at her most beautiful when her hair and make-up are perfect and the wedding gown is on, veil and accessories in place and the bride looks radiant and super beautiful.  It’s also quite an emotional time…  I love to see the expression on dad’s face when he first sees his daughter in her wedding dress…  I have had to compose myself on many occassions at this point in time…  Believe me, I sometimes need a moment to pull myself together during bridal preparations – I have two daughters so it always gets me!!!

So, what other times during your wedding day are you guaranteed to get great photography?  After the wedding breakfast of course!  Why – you might ask?  Because all the formalities are over.  The wedding vows are complete, the speeches are over and those with big responsibilities on your wedding day, can kick back and start to really enjoy the day.  By this time your family, friends, bridesmaids and groomsmen have probably had a few glasses of bubbly and are ready to really enjoy the rest of the day.  I always grab this opportunity to gather together the bridal party, parents and close friends and get outside for some fun, relaxed wedding photographs.  You will also be grateful for some fresh air after a couple of hours seated for the wedding breakfast.  I am often asked if I can cover a wedding for just a few hours up until the start of the wedding breakfast.  This is absolutely fine, however it cuts out the most fun part of the day post wedding breakfast…

Believe me…  the latter stages of the wedding day are the besets fun ever!  Ensure that these moments are captured forever.  I hope you enjoyed these wedding photography tips.  Happy Wedding Planning…  xxx

Wedding Photography Hothorpe Hall

The lovely Jane and Steve were married at Hothorpe Hall and I am so glad I was there to capture their beautiful wedding day.  Despite the fact that the weather was unkind to us, we still managed to grab 5 minutes outside near the front of the hall to get a few images of the ‘just married’  Mr and Mrs.  This was a small, intimate wedding with just family and a few close friends and it was a really lovely day.  If you are looking for a lovely Leicestershire wedding venue with really helpful staff why not visit the Hothorpe Hall website here

Thank you Mr and Mrs Freer, for making me so very welcome on your special day.

BEE Happy… xx

Kelvin & Lindsay – Wedding Photography at St Peter’s Church Aston Flamville Leicestershire

Just a few images from the lovely wedding I photographed recently.  Kelvin and Lindsay were married at St Peter’s Aston Flamville, Leicestershire (just a hop, skip and a jump away from my studio).  They celebrated with their guests at Hinckley Golf Club where they partied hard and made me feel so very welcome on their special day.   Lindsay has to be credited with almost every detail for her wedding day – from the flowers, to the sweeties and room decor.  A bride that truly was totally in charge of her wedding day.  Thank you to Kelvin, Lindsay, your family and friends for making me laugh, giving me some fab moments to photograph and for being so laid back and fun.  Wishing Mr & Mrs Doyle a long and happy life together.  xx Lesley Bee
