Studio Portrait Photography in Hinckley, Leicestershire

I often feel very fortunate that I’m able to welcome anyone who books a portrait photography session with me to a studio that’s in a location as beautiful as the Atkins Building in Hinckley, Leicestershire. The Atkins Building is a former hosiery factory that has been converted to a wonderful space that is now home to lots of creative businesses and even has a coffee shop.

My own space in the building is a lovely bright and airy photography studio. It’s very spacious so I’m able to offer studio portrait sessions right from babies through to larger groups such as extended families, corporate teams and groups of friends.

As you can see from this gorgeous group of cousins, the space is perfect for larger groups.

My studio portraits are very relaxed and informal and I’m endlessly patient. Which comes in handy, especially when photographing small children and pets!

I offer a friendly and personal service, starting with an initial consultation where we can chat about your portrait session, I can offer advice on clothing etc. and help with any other concerns you might have. I totally understand that booking a photography session might sometimes seem a little daunting.

Saturday studio portrait photography sessions cost just £60 and midweek sessions are £45. Your session fee includes my time and talent on the day, my skills in editing the best images and a viewing session where you will return to the studio and I will help you choose your favourite images. You will also receive a complementary 10×8” gift print.

I offer a range of beautiful products to display your favourite images including canvases, bespoke framed images, print collections, albums and digital collections. I’ll show you samples and take time to help with your choice at the viewing session.

Studio portrait photography sessions are available for all of the following:

Babies and toddlers
Children
Teenagers (including groups of friends for birthdays etc)
Families
Extended families
Dogs
Corporate headshots (individuals and groups)

I hope you enjoy this small selection of just a few of my favourite images from recent portrait sessions in the studio.

Studio Portraits Leicester

I’ve been really busy with studio portraits just recently and have had so many lovely clients come to me for photography.   I have had a lot of extended families to photograph and one particular family of 14 came for a photo shoot recently during a visit to Leicester.  This family all live in London and were visiting friends and family to celebrate grandma’s 80th Birthday (I had to call her ‘Ba’ – which I am presuming is Indian for grandma or nanny, unless they were having a joke on me…).

We really did have lots of fun during this session.  It was noisy, chaotic and a bit bonkers at times, but the family were so full of joy and I just love the colours in these photographs.  They had a mixture of images taken both in traditional and casual dress.   I must admit, I had to have a lie down for a few minutes when they left, but it will be a family I will remember for a very long time.  Joyful…

Location Portraits in Leicestershire

It was off to Skylark Farm for a photo shoot with 2 lovely boys who are so lucky to live in such wonderful surroundings.  7,500 chickens, a couple of piggies, sheep and a lovely doggy called Jessie.   With lots of visitors all day long to spend time at their fab coffee shop and to purchase from the farm shop.   These boys have the best fun ever, running around all day enjoying their surroundings.  What a perfect place to grow up!

Photo Shoots in April

These photo shoots were great fun with some fantastic kids.  I’ve had a few teenagers and toddlers for studio photo shoots during April, along with a family of 3 generations which was a gift for Grandma’s birthday.   It really is great to have variety and I certainly meet lots of lovely people in my job – I love people… and capturing personalities so I guess I am in doing my dream job.   If you would like to book a photo shoot with me – Lesley Bee, then please get in touch.  Call me on 01455 233224 to book your portrait shoot.  I love photographing babies and toddlers, teenagers and grandparents, doggies and cats, in love couples, corporate head shots etc.  You name it, I can photograph it.  And I promise you will enjoy your photo shoot too.

We took little Alfie outside to run around outside the Atkins Building, as a tag on to his studio shoot.  Alfie is only 2 so had lots of energy.  We started off in the studio but I decided it would be great to get him outside to run around.  Zoom lens in place and I left him to do what he wanted to do.  He’s wearing a lovely Jules coat – I think he could be their next model…

This family photo shoot was great fun.  3 generations – grandparents, children and grandchildren.   I always try to add some fun to family shoots and the kids especially loved pulling silly faces.  Grandma purchased a lovely wall portrait of her whole family (don’t worry – she didn’t purchase one of these images) but they did get a laugh at the portrait viewing.    I love the action shot of little girl falling off the sofa…

I’ve met some lovely families in the studio recently.  All arriving a little pensive about being photographed professionally, but all leaving and realising that it can actually be good fun having your photograph taken.  Take a look at the smiles on some of these faces…  If you would like relaxed, laid back and informal photographs in a studio or location please contact me at Lesley Bee Photography on 01455 233224.  You can also purchase gift vouchers for Christmas gifts if you prefer.  These beautiful, hand made vouchers are available from £30.00

Family photography by lesley bee

So…  this is my favourite family photograph.    Why? Because it features me (far right – sticking my tongue out), my husband Mr Bee (behind me in the striped jumper), my two daughters Maisie (curly blond hair) and Lydia (crouched down on the ground in the black top looking a bit confused) and all of my in-laws!  We get together for a big family picnic every year which is always great fun and planned very much in advance.   We all have our responsibilities to make it fun, including games, great food, setting up of the gazebo etc.  And my responsibility of course, is to take the family photograph each year, by setting up my camera on a tripod and jumping into the shot.

Ok, so there was another shot that made the final selection of us all smiling nicely at the camera (like most people think they should do) but, you know what?  I prefer this one…  We had literally just gathered  together when the rain came down and we had to run for shelter,  and in the process we all got just a little wet…  So, we went for the ‘crazy family’ shot. It’s probably one of my most favourite photographs ever because it features lots of special people, being completely bonkers and having fun and I know that my children will treasure this photograph always…

Welcome…

It’s taken me a couple of years to get my head around rebranding from ‘Artography’ to my new business name Lesley Bee Photography. Artography always felt a bit too ‘corporate and impersonal’ and I pride myself in offering the absolute opposite… a very personal service to all of my clients. Photographing weddings and portraits and working hard to ensure that each and every person I work with feels relaxed, and has fun in front of my camera is my ultimate goal.

Juggling my photography, my children, and dog walking… not forgetting my role as a wife (yes… Mr Bee comes at the bottom of the list but he knows that) – I haven’t had time to think straight some days, but now I have got my act together and decided to focus on a new direction for the Lesley Bee brand, including this new website, new logo etc . It was the obvious next move once I moved into my new studio over a year ago at the Atkins Building in Hinckley, Leicestershire. So, here it is… my new website. It’s still in its early stages but getting there. Please take a look around, browse my portfolio and if you are looking for a wedding or portrait photographer with an informal, fun approach, please call me on 01455 233224, or you can complete the ‘contact’ form on this website and I will get back to you with any information you require.

Another Photo Shoot in the Grounds of the Atkins Building

It’s so much more creative, walking around the Atkins Building taking photographs.  I get more inspired than in the confined space of my studio.  Although I photographed Victoria in the studio too, it was great to capture these images in the fresh air.  We had a relaxed, informal session, walking around the grounds of the Atkins Building, photographing Victoria using my 70-200mm zoom lens.  It’s much more informal when the lens is not too close to the subject…   If you would like to be photographed in natural light, using interesting features as backdrops for your photo shoot please call Lesley Bee on 01455 233224.  I can offer you a collection of images in both outside natural and studio light for your portfolio.    Please call or email for further information and prices.

Natural Light Photography in and Around the Atkins Building Hinckley

I love my studio space at the Atkins Building.  It’s light, airy and contemporary and always makes an impact when clients visit…  I am also so delighted that the Atkins Building itself is the perfect space to take photographs using natural light.  The newly built Hinckley College right next door, also offers some interesting backdrops for portrait photography.  Take a look at some of these shots taken using natural light and the space around me.  It was nice to walk around the building and outside space to create these shots of this lovely boy.  Great fun.

Hinckley Carnival Queen Competition 2011

I had a lovely evening recently, photographing the Black Tie Event at Hinckley Football Club to select this years Hinckley Carnival Queen.  This is the 4th year I have sponsored this event by providing the Carnival Queen, along with the Carnival Princess and Prince with a studio photo shoot as a prize.  I am proud to be a resident of Hinckley and love to get involved in the community and work with local businesses.

The girls who entered the competition were great fun, very professional and clearly they were all enjoying themselves.  The  stunning bridal gowns and cocktail dresses, along with the beautiful make-up were all provided by Liney’s Brides, Hinckley.  Entertainment for the evening was provided by the lovely Rebecca Howsin and Shelby Dance Academy.  And as in previous years Scott Bailey was on hand to compere the evening.   The whole event was organised by Kev  Whelan from Bar Vis’a’Vis and Paul Moss from the ‘Holiday Lounge’.  It was great to have local sponsors on board including Eden Beauty, Tulips Flowers, The Plough Inn and The Kase Hotel.  The overall winner was Victoria Evans who won a fabulous holiday donated by the Holiday Lounge and a photo shoot provided by me!  Just a few images below:-
