So many precious times that should be captured in beautiful photographs that you will treasure forever – baby photography being the perfect example. It’s so easy to let the birth of your baby pass by – and it will, absolutely in the blink of an eye. But if you have booked a baby photography photo shoot you will have your beautiful, professional photographs to treasure these memories for many years to come.
This sweet little pair came to the studio for a baby photography session and of course we had to capture some photographs of big sister having some cuddles with her new baby sister. Mummy was so delighted that we managed to capture these beautiful photographs, alongside photographs of her new baby and we were super lucky that she was so settled that we managed to get some family and parent photographs too. This session took around 2-3 hours and was peaceful and relaxed.
Time will go so quickly and your new baby will grow and change daily. So don’t miss out on this chance for professional photography. You can book your newborn photo shoot as early as scan stage or you can book towards the later stages of your pregnancy. We will discuss a mutually convenient day and time for you and your family and when your new baby arrives we will confirm your appointment for your photo shoot.
The newborn photography photo shoots are very much baby led and I will work around feeding, cuddles and changing. It’s a very relaxed studio photo shoot with lots of breaks and parents often comment on how it was nice to get out of the house for a few hours and to relax and switch off for a short time.
The newborn photography session information is available HERE including details of pricing details. You may prefer to call and chat more about this lovely session so please feel free to call 01455 233224 if this is your preferred option.

These wonderful families above all came to my studio for family photo shoot and we had a lovely time creating these images for them. I especially adore the photograph above (bottom right) which was 4 generations. Jane (on the right of the photograph) had contacted me as her mum and grandma were coming to visit from Newcastle and she wanted a 4 generation photograph during their visit. Jane had a very clear vision of the style of photograph she wanted and this included a photograph of the hands of all of the family members. If you have grandparents, please don’t forget them and photograph them regularly… We had to work around grandma needing to sit down during this session as she is no longer strong on her legs, but we definitely had a lovely time taking these photographs.
You may have energetic, lively children and part of my job as a photographer is to stay focussed, patient and most of all keep my sense of humour. Your family photo shoot will never be rushed and I have photographed many families since I stared my photography business over 12 years ago. Over the years I have photographed families large and small either at my studio or on location in and around Hinckley, Leicestershire. You can view my gallery of family photo shoots HERE
Family photo shoots prices can also be viewed HERE
So please don’t delay, book your family photo shoot today. I would love to hear from you. xx
Pet portraits are definitely one of my favourite photography sessions. Pets are part of our families and we adore our four legged friends, so why wouldn’t you want to include your pet in your photo shoot?
If I could only choose just one genre of photography I would definitely have to say it would be pet portraits, especially dogs. I have two Cockapoo dogs and absolutely adore them. My two daughters are all grown up now so I have to say my 2 dogs are definitely like my children now… Which reminds me, I really must get them into my studio and take some up to date photographs of them. I really love to photograph families small and large and i am often asked if dogs are allowed to come along to the session. And of course my answer is always yes! This gorgeous pup came along with her family for a photo shoot. We took lots of photographs of the whole family with and without their gorgeous dog Bella. We also took a few images of Bella at the end of the photo shoot – her very own pet portrait photoshoot at the end of the session. She was as good as gold and still only a puppy. I have to say I was smitten. This was the photograph that Bella’s family chose at their ordering session and I am sure they will adore this photograph forever.
If you would like to book in a family portrait session and bring along your pet dog, please just call 01455 233224 and let me know you would also like to bring along your dog. We can chat about your photo shoot whether this is at my studio in Hinckley, Leicestershire or perhaps you would prefer a photo shoot on location at your home or favourite place. Whatever you decide for your photo shoot please be prepared for lots of fuss and cuddles from me… I really can’t help it. You may prefer to book a photo shoot just for your dog and you can see my gallery of dog photographs HERE. You can view prices for pet portraits at my studio HERE
Gift vouchers are also available if you would like to purchase the gift of a pet portrait photo shoot for someone special. Further information HERE
Have you been considering baby photography? Are you expecting a new baby or would you like your older baby photographed?
A new baby is such a precious time and they grow and change so quickly. We are all taking photographs on our mobile devices every single day now, unfortunately we are not printing our photographs. If you book a professional baby photography session you will receive a complimentary 10×8 print from your baby photography photo shoot. I also offer print and wall art photography packages which I will present to you at your ordering session a couple of weeks after your photo shoot.
My studio is light and airy and very comfortable. You can relax and sit back whilst I take photographs of your baby with minimal fuss, whilst ensuring that your baby is happy.
You may be considering having your baby photography photo shoot when your baby is a little older. If this is the case, then the perfect age for this baby photography experience is when your little one is sitting up but not crawling. At this age babies are alert, will interact but of course they can’t crawl off in every direction. The newborn baby photography session takes a minimum of 2 and up to 4 hours because patience is key and I always like to ensure that baby’s needs come first. Lots of stops for feeding, cuddling or changing are important for these sessions. For your older baby at sitting stage, the photo shoot is usually over within about 45 minutes. The best photographs of your baby will be captured within the first 15 minutes. The environment is new and your baby will hopefully be interested and inquisitive. Perfect! Usually older babies are a little tired out fairly quickly so it’s important that I work quickly and get those smiles.
If you would like information on baby photography sessions click this link . And if you would like to discuss the baby photography photo shoots please don’t hesitate to call me on 01455 233224 or email me at email@example.com.
I look forward to chatting to you and booking you in for your photo shoot. 🙂
Baby Photo Shoots Leicester.
Photographs of your new baby are just so precious. Before you know it our new baby will grow and change. These early days are such a lovely time. Those sleepy poses, the milky smiles and of course the endless supply of free cuddles! This little baby boy came to me for some newborn photographs along with his big brother and he was as good as gold. The ideal age to have photographs taken of your newborn is around 5-10 days. If you wish to book this lovely session you can call and chat to me further and I can give you further information about these lovely photo sessions.
Photographs of your new baby will be taken almost every single minute of every single day but nothing beats a professional photography session with a newborn photography specialist. My studio is warm, comfortable and quiet. The photo session will take a minimum of 2 hours and sometimes up to 4 hours or more if your baby doesn’t settle. Studio newborn photography sessions are £85 for the photo session and use of props etc. This photo shoot includes a complimentary 10×8 print. If you would prefer to have photographs of your new baby taken at your home I also offer this to clients. The fee for a home visit is £150 for my time, travel and use of props etc. Again, this session includes a complimentary 10×8 print. The sessions at home are lovely because you may wish not to go out for a couple of weeks after your new baby arrives. Again, please call me to discuss this option if you would like to know more or to book the session. My contact number is 01455 233224.
Photographs of your new baby should be taken at around 5-10 days old although I have photographed many newborns at around 2-4 weeks too. Please note if your baby is over 2 weeks old the session may take longer. I have a lovely selection of props including furniture, boxes, bowls, blankets, hats and beautiful outfits but I also encourage you to bring along any personal items for your baby. You may have a lovely knitted hat that grandma has made, or a favourite blanket or toy. It’s lovely to include some personal items in their photographs.
You are most welcome to bring along older siblings to the photo shoot, however
please note that the photo session takes at least 2-4 hours so I would recommend that they are only with us either at the beginning of the session or towards the end. If your partner is joining you on this photo session they may wish to go out for a walk with the older sibling and come back a little later.
To book this session mummies often call and pay the photo shoot session and once your new baby has arrived we will firm up a mutually convenient date and time to take the photographs. I also offer newborn photography gift vouchers which are perfect for Baby Showers. Details of gift voucher are here
Baby photo shoots Leicester – a lovely experience for a very special time.
Are you thinking about a first birthday cake smash photography experience? Is your baby about to celebrate their very first birthday. A really precious milestone in their lives and a lovely age to have professional photographs taken. This little cutie had a fabulous time at her cake smash photo shoot. We started the photo session with some lovely portrait photographs with mummy and daddy on hand to ensure she was happy at all times. It’s important to take some traditional portraits before we commence with the mess of the cake smash! It’s great to have some time when you first arrive to take standard beautiful portraits.
Once we have taken the portrait photographs which require just 5-10 minutes it’s then time to bring the cake out for your baby. This is the fun bit and the time to allow them to get as messy as they want. This is such a fun part of the overall session. Taste touch, feel, smell – such also a lovely experience for your baby. I have props at the studio that you can use including outfits, cake stands, bunting, wooden spoons etc. Some parents like to really personalise their photo shoot and would prefer to bring along some favourite outfits and toys. This little baby in these photographs is using all of my studio props including the fabric bunting, the tin bath, white towels, wooden spoon, bath toys etc. The dress is also available (amongst other beautiful outfits) for you to use at the photo shoot. The choice is absolutely yours.
It’s important not to rush this photo shoot session however I am also aware when baby is getting a little tired too. The first part of the photo session cannot take too much time as your baby may become tired or uninterested but I can guarantee that when the cake comes babies get a second wind and love this interactive experience. Of course, I wouldn’t want you to go home with a sticky, messy baby so we also have a little bit of bath time too at the end of the session which allows us to get your baby all cleaned up, wrapped in a towel and a bit of snuggle time with parents. By this point in time, I promise you your baby will be worn out, perhaps ready for some milk and definitely ready for a little nap.
The full session lasts around an hour, sometimes a little longer and the session fee is £60 for the photo shoot including a complimentary 10×8 print. You will also be invited back to the studio around 1-2 weeks after the cake smash photo shoot to see your final set of images which will be digitally enhanced and looking wonderful for your ordering session. I will present your final gallery to you in a lovely slide show for you to enjoy.
Please note unfortunately I do not provide the cake for these photo sessions due to the risk of allergies but I do have contacts for cake makers and there are also some lovely giant cup cakes available at some supermarkets. The birthday cake in these photographs was made by her mummy as this little one has a lot of allergies.
If you would like to book a first birthday cake smash photo shoot please do give me a call on 01455 233224 to discuss a date or to chat about the photo shoot in more detail.
First birthday cake smash photography is a fabulous keepsake of your baby’s special birthday.
The Baby Bump photography package is one of my very popular photo shoots and I adore these photo sessions. I offer this service as a photography package consisting of 2 separate sessions – a pregnancy photo shoot at around 30 weeks and a newborn photo shoot at around 5-10 days old. Further details about the follow up newborn baby photo shoot is available by clicking here . The photo shoot package to combine a pregnancy and newborn photo shoot is £150 for the 2 separate photo sessions. Each session includes a complimentary 10×8 print and you will return for a viewing of your photographs to choose your favourites, where I will present to you a wonderful slide show of your final images and show you my products available to purchase, including framed wall art, digital photo books, print packages and digital photograph packages.
Often expectant mummies are so excited to have a new baby on the way and are enjoying the pregnancy too – feeling healthy and beautiful. The baby bump photography session is the perfect way to have a beautiful record of your pregnancy. We will get together when you are around 30 weeks pregnant and take some photographs in my studio at the Atkins Building, which is located right on the edge of Hinckley town centre. The studio is private, quiet, cosy and spacious. It really is a lovely space and all my clients love it. I can tell – I know… because I can see them relaxing before my eyes during their photo shoots.
You are most welcome to bring along your partner and other children to share in the baby bump photo shoot experience but I do have expectant mummies who also come to the studio on their own to have their photographs taken. The choice is absolutely yours. It is your photo shoot and I will do whatever you wish. As long as you are happy then I know the photo shoot will be a success.
What I do want to achieve during this session is a relaxed, informal experience that you will enjoy. I will ensure that you only do what is comfortable for you. Some pregnant clients are happy to be photographed in their lingerie or semi naked, tasteful poses, and others not so much. The choice is entirely yours. I will not push you in a direction you don’t wish to go. However I have had expectant mummies arrive very nervous and unsure about the baby bump photography session, but by the time the photo shoot is over we have achieved shots that were absolutely not planned. I take this as a compliment that these clients have felt relaxed enough to ask for more poses than they had planned.
Please note that when it comes to the newborn photo shoot this is a much longer session lasting between 2-4 hours and again your partner and siblings are very welcome at this photograph session. A baby bump and newborn session really is a wonderful photographic record of such an amazing time. A collection of images that will be so precious to you for years and years.
So – don’t think about it any longer. Be assured that I am a photographer who is respectful, professional and relaxed and I always ensure that my clients enjoy their time with me.
To book your bump to baby photo shoot package or to discuss this photography package in more detail please call me on 01455 233224. An initial telephone consultation will, I assure you, make you feel more relaxed, informed and excited about this wonderful photography session.
Enjoy your pregnancy – such and AMAZING, precious time.

Family photo shoots Leicester. How to have a fun photo shoot.
Do you want to know how I ensure that your photo shoot is relaxed and stress free? Do you want to know how to have a fun photo shoot and get great photographs that you will love forever?
Firstly it’s about having an open mind and allowing your photographer to do what they do best. It’s about listening to the advice given to you before your professional photo shoot. I have been a professional photographer for almost 11 years now and I have probably jumped over almost every hurdle you can think of when it comes to photographing weddings and portraits.
So what’s my experience taught me? How do I ensure that all my clients feel relaxed in front of the camera? How do I tackle each of my portrait sessions whether they take place here at my studio at the Atkins Building in Hinckley, or at your home in your garden or on location at your favourite park, woods or special place where you enjoy family time.
I always ensure that my clients have received my photo shoot guidelines before their photo shoot. These are basic guidelines so that you get the best out of your photo session. It’s important that I prepare you for your photo shoot – what’s going to happen and how to ensure it’s stress free and enjoyable. If my clients are relaxed and at ease, believe it or not, my job is 50% done.
For family sessions at my photography my top tips are:
For baby photography sessions either at my studio or at your home my top tips are:

So – that’s it really. I hope I have covered off areas that may concern you when thinking of booking a professional photo shoot. It really can be something fun, informal and relaxed if you are prepared and have had good advice up front.
Family photo shoots Leicester. How to have a fun photo shoot. It’s really quite easy. Let me take control and ensure you enjoy your time in front of the camera. 🙂
I am going to talk to you about why you should get together with your special family… Because, we don’t do it very often do we? Come on, be honest? How often do you see all of your close family, all together at the same time? Life is just so busy and we merrily get on with our lives and barely stop to think for a moment. Life just gets in the way and often social media makes us super lazy about seeing our families in the flesh, to just catch up, maybe have coffee or lunch or a meal out. It’s often easier to send a quick Facebook message or to throw up an update to your Facebook page and feel like you’re keeping in touch… And often it’s true that families only get together for weddings, Christmas and maybe the odd special Birthday (often even at Christmas someone is missing due to families living further apart) The last time I saw my extended family it was at a funeral.
If you are having a family get together some time this year, maybe to celebrate a very special birthday, anniversary or just for a very rare get together, I challenge you to take as many photographs as possible. Because, you know it’s not going to happen again for a long time. If you are not particularly close to your family and you do manage a get together – it is even more important to record this special event with a few photographs. It’s important, it’s a precious time. Family photo shoots for a special special occasion are always the perfect way to have something after your celebration that will last absolutely forever. You can do this yourself. You may not be the best photographer in the world, but you can gather everyone together, young and old and take that all important photograph that is going to mean so much to you for many, many years to come. Or if you can’t cope with the organisational skills, patience and tolerance required to take this photograph – book a professional. Book someone who knows what they are doing, who can control a crowd and who isn’t fazed by a grumpy grandad or a lightning bolt 2 year old… Because it’s not just taking the photograph that requires skill, but it’s patience, understanding and a very big sense of humour.
So think about this now… are you getting together as a family for a special birthday, anniversary or just a very rare get together that you know for sure will not happen again in a long time? Then it’s the perfect opportunity to have some professional photographs taken. I have a really lovely, light and airy, comfortable photography studio located yards away from Hinckley town centre at the Atkins Building. It’s a wonderful, relaxed space and I very much enjoy seeing extended families come together for photographs. Because I know I am creating truly treasured memories that all the family will love forever. Or, if you have booked a venue for your family occasion, it might be a hotel or a venue with some beautiful grounds or it could be a party in grandma’s garden, I can visit you before or after the celebrations commence or be with you for the whole party and get some fantastic photographs. We can do a bit of sheep herding and commence with photography of the whole rabble together… and once this mammoth task is completed I can then take photographs of grandparents with the children, grandparents with the grandchildren, plus lots of other photographs of individual families and of course, not forgetting the beautiful individual portraits of the children too. Any combination of photographs you require I will take for you. And you can enjoy your family celebration and spend time with those that you love and create memories.
I love to see generations of families coming together – we all have such busy lives and often we don’t get together with our families very often. So remember this next time you are planning a big family party. I am lucky if I get to see my Liverpool family all together, maybe once a year. Distance and busy lives get in the way.
If you would like information on photo shoots click this link where you will find details of all of the fees for photography sessions. You may wish to purchase a gift voucher for this purpose and you can see details of these by clicking this link . I can also tailor a package to suit your needs and budget. Don’t be shy – just ask. 🙂
Please don’t hesitate to call me on 01455 233224 to book me for your special family get together or to discuss your requirements.
Family photography by Lesley Bee Photography. Photographing families since 2006.
Are you currently researching wedding photography in Leicestershire for your upcoming wedding day? This was another beautiful wedding I photographed at home in Leicestershire this year. I first met Lottie when I photographed her and her two sisters and brother at their home a couple of years ago, as a surprise for her dad’s 50th Birthday. It was lovely to be back at their beautiful home again in Peckleton to photograph her wedding day. I arrived to find Lottie and her sisters looking after their mum, doing her make up and hair, so commenced photography to capture the beautiful wedding day details. At this point in the day, I work quietly and with minimal fuss as I am very aware that there is already an awful lot going on during bridal preparations and I definitely don’t want to get in the way and certainly never try to take over.
Lottie had her two sisters and 2 friends as bridesmaids and when I first arrived they were enjoying pastries and champagne. All was calm, organised and relaxed. A good start to the day.
Lottie’s family home is quite literally opposite Peckleton Church and as you can see from the image below, it was about a 40 metre walk from their home, over to the church. Covertec Structures provided the beautiful marquee in the garden and it was a pleasure to work with them again in 2016. They do a wonderful job and their bespoke marquees always look stunning.
I love this photograph of Lottie, looking over the garden at the view and maybe contemplating her special day ahead.
It was full on with supportive bridesmaids and mum helping Lottie into her dress and helping with her hair etc.
I seem to have a bit of an obsession in creating a beautiful shot of brides putting on their wedding day shoes. I was especially keen to get an image of Lottie and those wonderful legs! I had extreme leg envy photographing this particular bride in her own bedroom putting on her stunning shoes.
This is a shot of Daniel and his groomsmen walking up the lane from the house just past the church where we did a few shots of the guys with the amazing rolls royce provided for the day by Daniel’s uncle. Although the car wasn’t used during the day it was great to get a few shots. The wet weather didn’t seem to dampen the spirits either.
I adore this photograph of Lottie having help from her sister to put on her bridal hair piece. Look at that smile! Gorgeous.
Often we don’t get much time before leaving the home / venue to get married, but 5-10 minutes is enough time to take some beautiful bridal portraits. I don’t style my brides, and much prefer to talk and give just a little direction when it comes to posture etc. This is a very emotional time of the day, just before the bride leaves to get married and I find it better to keep the situation calm and relaxed.
A few shots with Lottie and her mum and sisters just before heading down stairs to see dad.
We had to make our way over to the church in a little rain, but as you can see from these shots with Lottie and her dad, it didn’t bother her one bit. One thing I always tell my brides is never to stress about weather on a wedding day. This is the UK after all and we should never have high hopes for perfect weather.
This image was taken from the very back of the church during the ceremony with my zoom lens and I just love the details in this shot, the lace in Lottie’s wedding dress, the pretty pink nails and the order of service held by Daniel. Lottie loves this photograph too.
We still had the rain to contend with when we left the church to make our way back to the bride’s home just down the lane but as you can see from these photographs there were still lots of smiles and nobody seemed to care… Lots of umbrellas too!
I absolutely love these confetti shots. We asked the guests to make their way on to the lane which runs alongside the church and Lottie’s home and we had a lot of fun capturing confetti in the rain! Fabulous…
This was the view from Lottie’s bedroom over rolling countryside and of course that amazing marquee. We were very lucky at this point in time as the rain had stopped so we grabbed the opportunity to do the formal group shots.
Just 10 minutes was all that was required to cover off the couple photographs. A little walk to the front of the house, followed by some photographs at the back of her home with the rolling countryside all around us. Then straight into the marquee to celebrate with their family and friends. Again, I prefer to shoot these images informally with minimal direction and also using my zoom lens so that I am not too close to the couple to make them feel uneasy.
Fabulous speeches and lots of noise and laughter… I especially enjoyed Lottie’s dad’s speech – very funny anecdotes and many laugh out loud moments.
Some of these image below are shot using a video light which gives a beautiful warm glow.
And finally, some images of the first dance and of course the disco dancing craziness that usually follows. Again, another part of a wedding day I love to capture before I make my way home.
Lottie and Daniel’s wedding day was a perfect wedding day at home in Leicestershire and another wedding that I won’t forget. Wishing you many happy days Lottie and Daniel. For your wedding photography in Leicestershire please don’t hesitate to contact me and I can provide you with my prices. I am also happy to meet with you to discuss your wedding day plans, your inspirations and requirements for your wedding day photography.
Take a look at my selection of images taken at Sutton Bonnington Hall for Carly and Sam’s beautiful wedding day. Such a beautiful venue in Leicestershire – small but just perfect in every way. I enjoyed photographing this lovely wedding and capturing memories of the day for this lovely couple and their baby daughter. Sutton Bonnington Hall is a Grade II Queen Anne period country property close to the borders of Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. It’s stunning!
The bridal suite is really beautiful and I arrived to find Carly very calm and relaxed, enjoying a cuppa as she was having her hair and make up done. The sun was shining and the view from the window was right over the beautiful gardens of Sutton Bonnington Hall.
Carly is the 2nd bride I have photographed who had a kind of ‘Grace Kelly’ look about her. Her beautiful dress was from Dress Me Pretty in Hinckley, Leicestershire. A stunning dress, very Carly!
I love to capture photographs when dad first arrives to escort his daughter down the aisle… always such a lovely moment and often very emotional too. Just look at Carly’s dad here… Super proud.
Beautiful dusky pink bridesmaid dresses and stunning flowers.
After the wedding ceremony it was drinks and canapés on the lawn at the back of Sutton Bonnington Hall. We were very, very lucky as just as we were going back inside for the wedding breakfast, the heavens opened!
Look at the detail in Carly’s beautiful dress…
It’s always nice to put my zoom lens on my camera and capture the guests drinking, chatting and enjoying the wedding day. It’s also nice to do this from a distance.
Another Leicester fan… Sam had to have some elements of the recent success of his favourite football team.
Fun and laughter during the speeches. I love Carly’s expressions on these images.
I don’t ever photograph guests during the wedding breakfast. This is usually the time when I sit down, have a break, take a big deep breath and just check over my list of photographs and ensure that I have covered all the requested group photographs. Towards the end of the meal I often pop back into the room and take some relaxed, fun photographs of the guests. This is usually just at coffee stage and by this time the guests may have had a few glasses of bubbly and are happy to be photographed.
I love these photographs of the family. Their little girl had been asleep and so once she had woken we grabbed the opportunity to take some family pictures using natural window light. Perfect.
If you looking for Sutton Bonnington Hall wedding photography for your special day and would like to discuss your wedding day photography please get in touch. I am happy to meet with you for an informal chat about your wedding. It really is important that you choose the right photographer for you special day. Someone who understands exactly what you are looking for with photographs and equally important, a photographer that can fit in on the day and not take over your special day.

Leicestershire Wedding Photography | Lucy & Mark’s Potters Marston Wedding
It’s not often that I share weddings on the blog, simply because I’m so busy shooting them and don’t get time to write about them. Lucy & Mark’s wedding was so beautiful and unique that I just had to share!
Potters Marston is a tiny village in Leicestershire, with an even tinier chapel at just 38 feet long and I now hold the unique honour of being the wedding photographer of the first ever wedding at one of the smallest churches in the county! The chapel actually dates back to the 15th century but it seems that Lucy & Mark are the first couple to actually get married there.
The chapel is in the grounds of Lucy’s parents’ home and the reception was held in a gorgeous marquee provided by Covertec Structures. Flowers By Stephanie did an amazing job (as I’m sure you’ll see from the photos) of decorating everywhere with flowers and creating the beautiful bouquets for Lucy and her bridesmaids, her floral decor was just perfect for a wedding in such a rural location.
As you can see the weather was just perfect, the wedding was beautiful and the day was relaxed and full of fun and love. These are my absolute favourite sorts of weddings, perfectly suited to my style of wedding photography which is informal and relaxed, capturing the story of the day as it unfolds. I also love to create beautiful portraits of the bride and groom on their big day and what could be better than having a field of golden wheat and perfect light, ideal for Lucy and Mark to take a little quiet time together after the wedding breakfast.
I hope you enjoy the photos and if you are planning your own Leicestershire wedding and would like to have a chat about wedding photography why not give me a call on 01455 233224.

I’m a firm believer in ‘word of mouth’ referrals and I have had many photography reviews along the way. I have photographed some amazing wedding days over the years and worked with such lovely couples. And of course I have also photographed many families, large and small on location and here at my studio at the Atkins Building here in Hinckley. Here are some photography reviews for Lesley Bee Photography, taken from my Facebook Page, alongside an image from their wedding day. You can view my wedding gallery of images here Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you would like to discuss your wedding photography requirements in more detail. I am happy to meet with you for an informal chat about your special day.
Lesley photographed our Wedding at The Impressive Titanic Hotel in Liverpool in February and what an amazing job she did! We seen Lesley before the wedding and spent a lot of her time talking through what we wanted and also what she felt would suit. From the start of the actual Wedding day, she made us both feel comfortable and at ease in her own unique fashion with a great sense of humour, which was much appreciated and very much needed! She makes you feel very relaxed and also makes the rest of the wedding party feel the same, especially parents, sisters, brothers, best men and bridesmaids!! She did a great job at controlling the wedding rabble! and everyone commented on what a fab job she did and what a great personality she is, as well as totally professional with it. We can’t wait to see our photos, but really appreciate the beautiful sneaky previews we’ve already seen…Thanks so much Lesley, you’re a Star! xx Toni Salters-Warner
Toni and Aaron’s fabulous wedding day at the Titanic Hotel, Liverpool.
I can honestly say Lesley is amazing at what she does. We met Lesley a couple of times before our wedding day including a meeting at our venue. Lesley becomes part of the wedding party and everyone loves her. We picked up our album this week and the pictures are stunning, Lesley captured the whole day beautifully creating a perfect story which is told through our album. I would 100% recommend Lesley to photograph any wedding as she is a natural. Our pictures will be with us forever and we wouldn’t change a thing. Laura Hayward
From the moment lesley arrived at my house for my daughters wedding we all felt instantly at ease. She is a true professional and works without being demanding. Pictures are stunning, I would highly recommend her, so much so she is doing my other daughters wedding. Laura Hayward’s Mum. (Julie Kilby. I have photographed both of her daughter’s weddings)
Laura and Ben’s beautiful wedding day at Warwick House.
Lesley was our photographer for our Wedding in September & she was absolutely brilliant. Her friendly & bubbly personality fitted right in & made us feel so relaxed. Half the time we didn’t even notice she was there & she has captured all the special moments which the pictures prove as they are truly stunning & tell the story of the whole day (which went by in a flash!). We’ve received a lot of comments from our guests on how lovely Lesley was & also what a great job she did at arranging everyone!! Thank you so much Lesley – you really are amazing at what you do & we are so thrilled with our beautiful pictures. Love Aaron & Melissa Gillespie xXx

Lesley was absolutely incredible on our wedding day, the photos are amazing and perfectly capture each moment from start to finish! I don’t know how we’re going to chose our favourites as they’re all so brilliant. Not only is Lesley an amazing photographer she is also great fun to be around, she made everyone feel at ease throughout the day and got on with everyone, particularly the scousers! Thanks so much Lesley, I looked like such a creep today grinning from ear to ear at my desk looking through all the photos! X Katherine Cullen

Lesley is such a wonderful person and photographer. It was just like having another friend at the wedding because she is so much fun to be around. Don’t even look anywhere else, because this woman is amazing. Not only with the images she captures but with her personality, it really shines through and allows you to feel at ease on your big day. I will always keep in touch with Lesley as she helped keep me going, more than a photographer! Couldn’t of asked for better. And as for her assistant, well you’ll see. If you want all your guests laughing…. book!
All of our family and friends also agree when I say you added some spirit to keep our day going. Thank you so much Love Sophie & Andrew Steans x

Wedding Photography – It’s All About The Details
Brides spend an enormous amount of time and money planning their wedding day. And of course, it’s all about the details… From buying the dress to booking the venue and of course a photographer. Followed by all the finishing touches and little details that make your day more personal and meaningful. Part of the process of photographing a wedding day is to capture all of the beautiful details to appear in your final collection of wedding day images. All the little trimmings, the table plan, the place names, the flowers for the bride and bridesmaids, the button holes for the groomsmen. The wedding shoes, the beautiful messages… the list goes on Take a look at some of the really gorgeous details captured from some amazing weddings… Enjoy!
From the dress hanging up at the start of the bridal preparations, to the beautiful table details at the wedding breakfast…
Your earrings you wore on your special day, the beautiful wedding cake and the corsages.
The perfume you chose to wear on your special day…
Shoes, shoes, shoes – a girl loves shoes!
Tiny details that make up your most amazing, special day.
Your chosen colour scheme, your menus, your tiara…
Table plan, jewels, bridesmaids shoes and wedding cake…
Quirky little touches that add to your day. Just lovely!
Messages and cards from your guests…
Your gift and wedding card table, the wedding car and your beautiful hanger that you hung your wedding dress on.
All these elements are part of your wedding day. Wedding day – the details. Just wonderful…
So what do you look for in family photography? Are you worried that you your children may not settle in a studio environment for your family photography session? Please don’t be concerned. I’ve been photographing families for ten years now and it’s very rare we have to re-shoot a photography session.
My studio sessions take place in my super light, airy and comfortable studio at the Atkins Building in Hinckley, close to the town centre. It’s important to me that families enjoy their family photography session and I understand that a photo shoot requires patience, bags of energy and a sense of humour, especially with young children. Often I will know when the children have had enough and I usually get my best photographs of young children within the first 15 minutes. After this point in time the wonder and excitement of what’s going on will definitely wear off. However if your child doesn’t settle immediately I have great patience and understanding and of course a few tricks to get them interested, co-operative and engaged.
It’s important to photograph the whole family together during the family photography session. It is also a great little start to the family photography session to photograph the children with their parents. It helps the children to relax, feel comfortable and secure if we take photographs of the whole family together. Once the children have settled and feel comfortable being photographed I will then ask parents to sit back and relax whilst I take portraits of the children.
If you are thinking about a family photography photo shoot, please call me on 01455 233224 and we can discuss further.

Newborn baby photography. One of my favourite sessions to shoot. And why? Well, just take a look at the gorgeous, precious photographs below. Newborn baby photography is so important in the very early days. Capturing photographs of your beautiful baby during the very early stages – just amazing!
Newborn baby photography sessions are also even more special when I have also photographed the wedding of my clients. It fills me with great pride when couples come back to me and allow me to photograph their new baby. It’s just so lovely to see them again (of course), but also to share a little of their ‘joy’ at being parents for the first time.
Just look at his beautiful face, and how content and happy he is. And bonus? I get to have a little cuddle too. Always a bit of a perk to newborn baby photography sessions.
The bow tie in this shot was from his own little outfit and as his daddy is a bit of a bow tie fan then it was just a perfect shot to take. We also used his parents wedding rings in a couple of his photographs.
I have lots of props in the studio to use for newborn baby photography photo shoots, including knitted hats, lots of warm and snuggly blankets, baskets, boxes, furniture props etc. I always advise parents to bring along any items that they may wish to have featured in their photographs. Often parents bring along a favourite hat or blanket that grandma has knitted. Or a favourite teddy to include in the images. It just adds that personal touch. However, often parents fall in love with my hats, blankets etc.
Newborn photography sessions take around 2-3 hours and sometimes longer. I will work around you and your new baby. We can drink coffee, chat and relax so that parents and of course new baby feel at home. I have photographed some newborn babies and less than 2 hours, and with others the shoot has taken up to 4 hours. If it takes a while for your baby to settle and they require regular feeding and cuddling then of course I sit back and we take a break. It’s simple.
If you would like to book a newborn photography photo shoot please call me on 01455 233224.
The session fee is £70 and this fee includes the time and talent to photograph your baby. Digital collections of around 25+ images provided on a USB stick with usage rights are £395. I also have wall art collections from £300.
Gift Vouchers are available from £70 up to any value and these are the perfect gift for baby showers…
Pet portraits are often just as important to clients as family portraits… My two dogs are my family and I love them both so much. So I fully understand how precious our pets are to us. With this in mind, I am very happy to have your pets attend your family portrait session. Alternatively you may just wish to book a pet portrait session just for your dog. I can photograph your dog, cat, rabbit, hamster – whatever fur friend you adore!
This gorgeous spaniel attended a family portrait session and was good as gold. Look at those eyes and that beautiful expression. Such a clever, alert, happy dog. Pet portraits by Lesley Bee – telephone 01455 233224
I have two cockapoos and I love them dearly, so was extra happy to have this cockapoo along to the family portrait session with these 3 gorgeous children. I have to say that the doggy was the most well behaved of all of them… Again, look at that beautiful face. Pet portraits – you will truly treasure forever. Call today on 01455 233224.
How about beautiful Ellie here… She’s just so lovely.. and was so well behaved in the studio. Ellie is getting old now and has had some health problems but she still has that sparkle in her eyes and is completely adored by her family.
Fabulous Buster below is such a ‘quirky’ but truly loveable doggy… He was absolutely perfect to photograph and of course, on his very best behaviour. He arrived after visiting the groomers first and was dapper, super clean and tidy for his pet portrait session and his mummy brought along his favourite stuffed toy too.
Gorgeous Amber below, was just such an adored pup. Her mummy and daddy were clearly smitten with her and who can blame them… Isn’t she just super gorgeous?
So if you wish to book in one of my pet portraits photography session, please call 01455 233224 and we can book in a suitable date and time for us to take some photographs that you will absolutely treasure forever.
Shearsby Bath weddings are always perfect! It’s such a beautiful, intimate wedding venue with lovely grounds, great staff and I have to say, I have always encountered lovely weather here too… Must be a perfect little individual mini climate for Shearsby Bath weddings?
Katy and Sam were married in August 2015, surrounded by absolutely tonnes of family and friends. It was such a lively, fun day. From the very first moment I arrived at Katy’s home I knew it was going to be a busy day. What was clear to see though was that there was absolutely nothing that Katy had forgotten. Every single detail had been planned by Katy to the finest detail.
I still refer to Katy today as my lovely Grace Kelly bride… We literally had 5 minutes to get a couple of shots of the beautiful bride before we fled out the door over to Northamptonshire for the wedding ceremony.
We had a bit of a drive to Katy and Sam’s wedding ceremony from Leicestershire over to Slawston in Northamptonshire to the All Saints Church. In fact, 45 minutes drive to get our bride to the church on time. However, what a beautiful church in a gorgeous village with many of the residents waiting in the lane to see the arrival of the bride…
Again, Katy and her ‘attention to detail’ shone through with her finishing touches at the church… Lovely.
If Katy was nervous upon arriving at the church, it certainly didn’t show… Look at that smile!
I don’t think I have ever experience a ‘mini hurricane’ at a wedding but for some reason the wind picked up just as we came outside the church after the ceremony and we did have a few fun moments with Katy’s veil… I love capturing shots like this. Such good fun.
Of course, a wedding day is not complete without confetti and there was plenty for all the guests. The more confetti the better is my opinion.
As soon as I arrive at Shearsby Bath, I know that we are in good hands. As usual, the staff were on hand to welcome the new Mr and Mrs and their family and friends.
The room layout in delicate pinks was just beautiful.
Just a few bride and groom shots before Katy and Sam sat down to enjoy their wedding breakfast with their family and friends.
Wedding speeches are one of my favourite parts of the day. Laughter, tears, a few embarrassing jokes and memories. Perfect!
I often find that following the wedding breakfast the couple often want to get a bit of fresh air and when the wedding is in the Summer we still have a lot of light until later in the evening. This is the perfect opportunity to get back outside and take some more informal, fun photographs. It also helps that by this point in time the guest might be a bit ‘squiffy’ after a few glasses of bubbly and are more up for some fun photography.
How cute is this bride?!
Cake cutting and first… And of course the obligatory ‘drunk dancing’… all recorded for prosperity… 🙂 Shearsby Bath weddings are always a delight…
BEE Happy Mr and Mrs Gibbons
Why book a professional photo shoot?
I’m often asked “Why book a professional photo shoot?” Often this is accompanied by quotes such as “I’ve got a really good camera”, “My smart phone takes really good photos”, “Professional photos are too expensive”…”My friend can take really good photos with his expensive camera”, “I can get a photo printed at Asda for 15p”. I’ve heard it all believe me… Many photographers constantly have to justify their costs to run a photography business. And believe me the costs are much higher than you would expect.
Well, surprise, surprise! I have a really good camera on my iPhone and believe me I take photographs on my phone almost every day… Here’s just a few examples below…. Would I print these photographs? Probably not. Would I frame these photographs? Definitely not. Do I love these photographs? Of course. But they sit on my iPhone (backed up to the iCloud of course) and probably won’t ever be printed on to paper – ever!!! . So, they will stay on my iPhone and every now and again I might scan through and enjoy looking at my memories.. have a little giggle or sigh and appreciate that moment again when the photograph was taken.
So – Whey would book a professional photo shoot? Well, quite simply because a professional photographer has the creative vision, training, experience, correct camera and lighting equipment for the job and above all is ‘professional’… Therefore I am perfectly at ease charging my clients to create images that you will treasure forever, images that you will want to hang on your wall. Images that will stand the test of time and be passed on to your children and your children’s children.
My absolute ultimate aim when photographing every single client is to make my subject feel relaxed. The ability to make clients feel relaxed is the most important part of my job. It wouldn’t matter how great my lighting was, how expensive my camera and equipment is, how amazing my software skills are when editing my photographs, none of this makes a tiny bit of difference if the subject in front of my camera is not relaxed and enjoying the experience.
When you book and pay me for a professional photo shoot you are paying for my creativity and expertise… you are paying for the use of my studio for a set number of hours to take the photographs. You are paying for the time involved to edit the final selection of images through professional editing software (which by the way costs a lot of money). You are paying for the time for me to present your images back to you at your viewing and ordering session back at the studio. There are many expenses involved in taking photographs professionally. Just the same as any other business. However, nobody seems to question the cost of a small piece of pipe that the plumber fitted to the boiler to make it work again. … Interesting?
Whether I am photographing a newborn baby, a large extended family, toddlers, doggies, corporate head shots, baby bumps, groups of friends – it doesn’t matter, I have to give 100% of myself to ensure that I can create the absolute best images for every client. With every photo shoot there are difficulties and hurdles to get over. Newborn baby photography sessions require patience, quiet and above all safety for the newborn baby. Toddlers require lots of energy, even more patience, a good sense of humour and an understanding that often the session may take longer than expected. With larger families I have to ensure every person in the room feels relaxed and at ease. Often larger family photography sessions can include grandparents, children and grandchildren (chuck in the family dog and it really does become challenging)…
Baby bump photography again requires patience and understanding as often the expectant mummy may be semi-naked and not completely comfortable throughout the photo shoot. The atmosphere needs to be professional, quiet and relaxed for these sessions.
Post production time is infinitely more time consuming than most clients realise. The post production of your images often takes 3-4 times longer than the photo shoot itself. Clients often expect in this digital age that their photographs should be ready very quickly. Wrong! An average portrait session can take from 2-6 hours in post production.
So next time somebody asks “so why book a professional photo shoot” I can send them off to read this blog post… If a potential client still thinks I’m too expensive, then quite frankly I’m happy for them to approach their ‘friend with a good camera’ to do the job.

The wedding ceremony took place at St Mary’s Church in Bitteswell. Katherine grew up in the village and her mum still lives directly behind this beautiful church. It was literally just 20 or so metres to walk from Katherine’s home where she grew up, into the church that means so much to Katherine and her family.
I love capturing the bride putting on her wedding shoes. Often, I will clear a space in the room where the bride is getting ready (just a little bit of un-cluttering and moving some stuff out of the way) so that we can capture an elegant shot of some of the finishing touches, such as the spraying of the all important perfume, some final finishing touches to the make up and of course putting on those very special shoes.
Nick was a fairly relaxed groom and so this made my job a little easier pre ceremony. Often the groom is a little on edge just before the ceremony, and if this is the case I will make a note to take more photographs of the Groom, Best man and ushers later in the day when they have had a beer (or two)… 🙂
Katherine was also walked down the aisle by her mum Margaret and it was pretty emotional for them both. Margaret really did her daughter proud in her duties with a pretty impressive speech during the wedding breakfast too. I had to wipe a little tear away at this point in time, as did many members of their family and friends.
Nick’s parents are originally from Liverpool, but now reside in Kent and it was lovely to hear a few ‘scouse’ voices on the day and share some Liverpool banter and laughter. I especially took a shine to Nick’s lovely grandma – she had that twinkle in her eye and we shared a few jokes throughout the day.
It was also lovely to see the groomsmen in top hats and tails… and we had a bit of fun with the hats in many of the photographs… It is always a bonus when the bridal party, friends and family are up for having some fun and don’t mind being a bit silly during the day. It’s so important to capture the story of a wedding day in photography and this includes the formal photographs too. Group photographs of families and close friends are cherished a long time after the special day and often these are the photographs that are treasured and framed and on display at home. Photographs that are passed on to the children and to their children’s children…
Photographs of Katherine and Nick when they were children, were placed on the tables and generated a few laughs…
