Pet Portraits

Pet portraits are often just as important to clients as family portraits…  My two dogs are my family and I love them both so much.  So I fully understand how precious our pets are to us. With this in mind, I am very happy to have your pets attend your family portrait session.  Alternatively you may just wish to book a pet portrait session just for your dog.  I can photograph your dog, cat, rabbit, hamster – whatever fur friend you adore!

This gorgeous spaniel attended a family portrait session and was good as gold.  Look at those eyes and that beautiful expression.  Such a clever, alert, happy dog.  Pet portraits by Lesley Bee – telephone 01455 233224

I have two cockapoos and I love them dearly, so was extra happy to have this cockapoo along to the family portrait session with these 3 gorgeous children.  I have to say that the doggy was the most well behaved of all of them… Again, look at that beautiful face.   Pet portraits – you will truly treasure forever.  Call today on 01455 233224.

How about beautiful Ellie here… She’s just so lovely.. and was so well behaved in the studio.  Ellie is getting old now and has had some health problems but she still has that sparkle in her eyes and is completely adored by her family.

Fabulous Buster below is such a ‘quirky’ but truly loveable doggy…  He was absolutely perfect to photograph and of course, on his very best behaviour.  He arrived after visiting the groomers first and was dapper, super clean and tidy for his pet portrait session and his mummy brought along his favourite stuffed toy too.

Gorgeous Amber below, was just such an adored pup.  Her mummy and daddy were clearly smitten with her and who can blame them… Isn’t she just super gorgeous?

So if you wish to book in one of my pet portraits photography session, please call 01455 233224 and we can book in a suitable date and time for us to take some photographs that you will absolutely treasure forever.

Shearsby Bath Weddings

Shearsby Bath weddings are always perfect!  It’s such a beautiful,  intimate wedding venue with lovely grounds, great staff and I have to say, I have always encountered lovely weather here too…  Must be a perfect little individual mini climate for Shearsby Bath weddings?

Katy and Sam were married in August 2015, surrounded by absolutely tonnes of family and friends.  It was such a lively, fun day.    From the very first moment I arrived at Katy’s home I knew it was going to be a busy day.  What was clear to see though was that there was absolutely nothing that Katy had forgotten.  Every single detail had been planned by Katy to the finest detail.

I still refer to Katy today as my lovely Grace Kelly bride… We literally had 5 minutes to get a couple of shots of the beautiful bride before we fled out the door over to Northamptonshire for the wedding ceremony.

Shearsby Bath Weddings

We had a bit of a drive to Katy and Sam’s wedding ceremony from Leicestershire over to Slawston in Northamptonshire to the All Saints Church.  In fact, 45 minutes drive to get our bride to the church on time.  However, what a beautiful church in a gorgeous village with many of the residents waiting in the lane to see the arrival of the bride…

Again, Katy and her ‘attention to detail’ shone through with her finishing touches at the church… Lovely.

Shearsby Bath Weddings

If Katy was nervous upon arriving at the church, it certainly didn’t show… Look at that smile!

I don’t think I have ever experience a ‘mini hurricane’ at a wedding but for some reason the wind picked up just as we came outside the church after the ceremony and we did have a few fun moments with Katy’s veil…  I love capturing shots like this.  Such good fun.

Shearsby Bath Weddings

Of course, a wedding day is not complete without confetti and there was plenty for all the guests.  The more confetti the better is my opinion.

As soon as I arrive at Shearsby Bath, I know that we are in good hands.  As usual, the staff were on hand to welcome the new Mr and Mrs and their family and friends.

The room layout in delicate pinks was just beautiful.

Wedding speeches are one of my favourite parts of the day.  Laughter, tears, a few embarrassing jokes and memories.  Perfect!

Shearsby Bath Weddings

I often find that following the wedding breakfast the couple often want to get a bit of fresh air and when the wedding is in the Summer we still have a lot of light until later in the evening.  This is the perfect opportunity to get back outside and take some more informal, fun photographs.  It also helps that by this point in time the guest might be a bit ‘squiffy’ after a few glasses of bubbly and are more up for some fun photography.

Shearsby Bath Weddings

How cute is this bride?!

Cake cutting and first…  And of course the obligatory ‘drunk dancing’… all recorded for prosperity… 🙂  Shearsby Bath weddings are always a delight…

Why Book a Professional Photo Shoot?

Why book a professional photo shoot?

I’m often asked “Why book a professional photo shoot?”  Often this is accompanied by quotes such as  “I’ve got a really good camera”, “My smart phone takes really good photos”, “Professional photos are too expensive”…”My friend can take really good photos with his expensive camera”, “I can get a  photo printed at Asda for 15p”.  I’ve heard it all believe me… Many photographers constantly have to justify their costs to run a photography business.  And believe me the costs are much higher than you would expect.

so why book a professional photo shoot

Well,  surprise, surprise!  I have a really good camera on my iPhone and believe me I take photographs on my phone almost every day…  Here’s just a few examples below….  Would I print these photographs? Probably not.  Would I frame these photographs?  Definitely not.  Do I love these photographs?  Of course.  But they sit on my iPhone (backed up to the iCloud of course) and probably won’t ever be printed on to paper – ever!!! .  So, they will stay on my iPhone and every now and again I might scan through and enjoy looking at my memories.. have a little giggle or sigh and appreciate that moment again when the photograph was taken.

so why book a professional photo shoot

So – Whey would book a professional photo shoot?  Well, quite simply because a professional photographer has the creative vision,  training, experience, correct camera and lighting equipment for the job and above all is ‘professional’…  Therefore I am perfectly at ease charging my clients to create images that you will treasure forever, images that you will want to hang on your wall.  Images that will stand the test of time and be passed on to your children and your children’s children.

so why book a professional photo shoot

My absolute ultimate aim when photographing every single client is to make my subject feel relaxed.  The ability to make clients feel relaxed is the most important part of my job.  It wouldn’t matter how great my lighting was, how expensive my camera and equipment is, how amazing my software skills are when editing my photographs, none of this makes a tiny bit of difference if the subject in front of my camera is not relaxed and enjoying the experience.

so why book a professional photo shoot

When you book and pay me for a professional photo shoot you are paying for my creativity and expertise… you are paying for the use of my  studio for a set number of hours to take the photographs.  You are paying for the time involved to edit the final selection of images through professional editing software (which by the way costs a lot of money).  You are paying for the time for me to present your images back to you at your viewing and ordering session back at the studio.  There are many expenses involved in taking photographs professionally.  Just the same as any other business.  However, nobody seems to question the cost of a small piece of pipe that the plumber fitted to the boiler to make it work again. …  Interesting?

so why book a professional photo shoot

Whether I am photographing a newborn baby, a large extended family, toddlers, doggies, corporate head shots, baby bumps, groups of friends – it doesn’t matter, I have to give 100% of myself to ensure that I can create the absolute best images for every client.  With every photo shoot there are difficulties and hurdles to get over.  Newborn baby photography sessions require patience, quiet and above all safety for the newborn baby.  Toddlers require lots of energy, even more patience,  a good sense of humour and an understanding that often the session may take longer than expected.  With larger families I have to ensure every person in the room feels relaxed and at ease.  Often larger family photography sessions can include grandparents, children and grandchildren (chuck in the family dog and it really does become challenging)…

Baby bump photography again requires patience and understanding as often the expectant mummy may be semi-naked and not completely comfortable throughout the photo shoot.  The atmosphere needs to be professional, quiet and relaxed for these sessions.

so why book a professional photo shoot

Post production time is infinitely more time consuming than most clients realise.  The post production of your images often takes 3-4 times longer than the photo shoot itself.  Clients often expect in this digital age that their photographs should be ready very quickly.  Wrong! An average portrait session can take from 2-6 hours in post production.

so why book a professional photo shoot

So next time somebody asks  “so why book a professional photo shoot” I can send them off to read this blog post…  If a potential client still thinks I’m too expensive, then quite frankly I’m happy for them to approach their ‘friend with a good camera’ to do the job.

Wedding Photography Kilworth House Leicestershire

Wedding Photography Kilworth House Leicestershire.

This was a scorcher of a day in August.  The weather was just perfect for Katherine and Nick’s wedding day and I remember this day as vibrant, colourful and fun.

If you require wedding photography at Kilworth House Leicestershire and like this selection of images and my style of photography please do give me a call on 01455 233224.  I am happy to meet with you to talk about your special day, your ideas and inspirations.  Read more about this wedding alongside some more of my memories from this lovely wedding day.

Wedding Photography Kilworth House Leicestershire

kilworth house wedding photography leicestershireThe wedding ceremony took place at St Mary’s Church in Bitteswell.   Katherine grew up in the village and her mum still lives directly behind this beautiful church.  It was literally just 20 or so metres to walk from Katherine’s home where she grew up, into the church that means so much to Katherine and her family.

kilworth house wedding photography leicestershireSome really lovely details that meant so much to Katherine and her family.  And of course the beautiful dress, and the all important shoes and flowers.kilworth house wedding photography leicestershire

kilworth house wedding photography leicestershire

kilworth house wedding photography leicestershireIt’s so lovely to capture images of the bride with her mother on the morning of her wedding day.  I always find this part of the day emotional but I try as much as possible not to be intrusive.

kilworth house wedding photography leicestershire

I love capturing the bride putting on her wedding shoes.  Often, I will clear a space in the room where the bride is getting ready (just a little bit of un-cluttering and moving some stuff out of the way) so that we can capture an elegant shot of some of the finishing touches, such as the spraying of the all important perfume, some final finishing touches to the make up and of course putting on those very special shoes.  kilworth house wedding photography leicestershire

kilworth house wedding photography leicestershirekilworth house wedding photography leicestershireNick was a fairly relaxed groom and so this made my job a little easier pre ceremony.  Often the groom is a little on edge just before the ceremony, and if this is the case I will make a note to take more photographs of the Groom, Best man and ushers later in the day when they have had a beer (or two)… 🙂

kilworth house wedding photography leicestershireKatherine was also walked down the aisle by her mum Margaret and it was pretty emotional for them both.  Margaret really did her daughter proud in her duties with a pretty impressive speech during the wedding breakfast too.  I had to wipe a little tear away at this point in time, as did many members of their family and friends.

Nick’s parents are originally from Liverpool, but now reside in Kent and it was lovely to hear a few ‘scouse’ voices on the day and share some Liverpool banter and laughter.  I especially took a shine to Nick’s lovely grandma – she had that twinkle in her eye and we shared a few jokes throughout the day.

Photographs of Katherine and Nick  when they were children, were placed on the tables and generated a few laughs…

wedding photography kilworth house leicestershireCapturing fun moments, personalities and of course laughter is always top of my agenda at every wedding I photograph and I think this wedding day has fun and laughter by the bucket load.  🙂

Check out the stunning room layout and table details in the orangery… Just beautiful.  So much thought and attention to detail by Lorna.    Are you looking for Kilworth House wedding photography in Leciestershire?  Please don’t hesitate to get in touch to discuss your upcoming wedding day at this amazing wedding venue.  I have photographed many weddings at Kilworth House.  I am happy to meet with you for a ‘no obligation’, informal chat about your wedding day.

The superb Kilworth House in Leicestershire was the chosen venue for Lorna and Matt’s fabulous Autumnal wedding.  The preparations began at Kilworth House with Lorna and her very helpful bridesmaids, including her very attentive sister who had only married a year earlier.   And of course it’s always wonderful to have mum with you too.   I was made to feel so very welcome as soon as I arrived to begin photographing this wonderful wedding day.  Lots of fun and laughter during the bridal preparations.  So many memories for Lorna and her girlfriends.

Lorna, was cool, calm and collected, full of smiles and so excited for her wedding day.  I think that’s clear to see in these images taken in the hotel room at Kilworth House.

Having a super attentive bridesmaid helping you to get ready is always a bonus, but when it’s your sister it’s even more special…Kilworth House Wedding Photography Leicestershire

If time allows, it’s always lovely to take some beautiful bridal portraits…  It’s important because this is the most beautiful the bride will look all day long (and of course Lorna looked stunning).  Once the days proceedings commence, it’s almost like everything runs at 100 miles an hour.  Every bride looks just so stunning just before heading off to the wedding ceremony…

Kilworth House Wedding Photography Leicestershire

Kilworth House Wedding Photography Leicestershire

Kilworth House Wedding Photography LeicestershireOnce Lorna and her bridesmaids were as pretty as can be we made our way to St. Catherine’s Church in Burbage for a beautiful service with tears and laughter.  It was back to Kilworth House for the wedding breakfast and dancing until the early hours.   I have to say in our pre wedding meetings Matt was quite a reserved, quiet guy.  But this was not the case on his wedding day.  Never known a groom to laugh so much. And I mean totally raucous laughter all day long.

Lorna and Matt jus ‘beamed’ with happiness all the way through their ceremony.  If they were nervous it certainly didn’t show… 🙂

The perfect entrance to Kilworth House?  Of course… it’s to be piped in by a Scottish piper.  Lorna is originally from Scotland and the Scottish piper was just a perfect way to announce that the bride and groom had arrived at Kilworth.  Organised as a surprise for Lorna and Matt, by Lorna’s parents.  Such a lovely touch.
