Louise & Paul – Mr & Mrs Cox

I had a  fantastic day photographing Louise and Paul’s wedding recently.  They were married at St Peter’s Church, Dunchurch, Rugby, followed by their wedding breakfast and party antics at Staverton Park in Daventry.  The weather was pretty  kind to us and we managed to dodge the drizzle upon arrival at Staverton Park for the reception. Louise looked so elegant and was so relaxed during the day,  but was also prepared to have a bit of fun during the photography.   My best advice I can give to any bride and groom on their wedding day is to enjoy every moment.  If you are having an amazing day, it will show in your images.  And it really does show in Louise and Paul’s images.

Unfortunately I was unable to photograph the ceremony itself but did manage to take a sneaky picture from the back of the church…

A few of my favourite images from the day… enjoy!  And thank you to Loiuse, Paul and your family and friends for making me so welcome on your special day.

If you would like to view the full gallery of images please contact Louise and Paul for the link to their gallery and password details.

Atkins Building – 7 Months On…

It’s been 7 months since my big move into the fantastic converted former hosiery factory the Atkins Building here in Hinckley, Leicestershire.    I have to say it was, and still is my  dream studio space and I enjoy working here so much.  And the added bonus is being involved with Creative Hinckley.  Creative Hinckley is the name of the collective of arts and creative industries practitioners who live, work and practice within the borough of Hinckley and Bosworth. If you are a creative individual you really do need to become a member.  You can check out other members here .  Please note:  profiles of members are a work in progress at the moment.

There really is a buzz about the Atkins Building and I am so excited at the prospect of the new Hinckley College campus being right next door, as of September this year.   Currently looks like lots of scaffolding and basically a shell of a building,  it’s hard to believe that in around 6 months time the brand new campus will deliver exciting courses in Performing Arts, Media, Graphic Design and Creative Arts….

All of the Creative Hinckley studios are fully let and I am working alongside some talented, inspirational tenants who inspire me on a regular basis!  My two neighbours either side of Artography are Leigh Armstrong of Magick Minx Productions and Winsome Ruddock of WB Arts.  Leigh is a talented jewellery designer who specialises in the design and tuition of Precious Metal Clay and Fine Silver.  As well as running workshops Leigh offers bespoke jewellery commissions, fingerprint jewellery, birthday / hen party workshops etc, alongside Magick Minx Perfume Blending.   Winsome Ruddock has been a practicing artist for over 18 years and offers creative and fun art parties, alongside school and community workshops and classes.

The Creative Hinckley Gallery looks amazing and is currently showcasing an exhibition called Figuring Light 2:  Colour, Shifting Boundaries.  The exhibition is featuring contemporary paintings and sculptures exploring colour, light, movement and rhythm.   You can see some photographs taken by Artography at the Preview evening earlier this week if you click here.

I am regularly buying my hot chocolates from Cafe Impressions!  Not to self:  must stop drinking hot chocolates!

Hinckley’s First Pancake Race – 2011

I recently headed into Hinckley Town Centre to photograph Hinckley’s first pancake race (fancy dress was optional!).  The race began at Market Place and headed up Castle Street with stops at certain points for the participants to show off their pancake tossing skills.  It was really great fun and I am sure it will be a great hit again next year.   Some of the participants this year were:  Skills for Living , Bray and Bray Solicitors ,  Trident Design and Romans at the Sketchley Grange Hotel in Burbage .  And it was clear to see they were having a great time with cheers from the spectators and shoppers.   If you would like more information about this event and listings for other planned events in Hinckley Town Centre, check out the website  Hinckley Bid .
