Seriously Behind with Blogging, but Here Goes… Engagement Shoots

I have met up with some lovely couples just recently to have a catch up on their wedding day plans and to take some informal photographs at their chosen venues.  It is really important for me to get to know each couple who books  Artography for their wedding day photography.  Often couples will book their photography with me a year ahead, and I would hate to turn up on their wedding day and feel like total strangers.  This ‘catch up’ meeting and mini shoot is the perfect solution and great fun too.

First up…  Helen and Andy.  Helen and Andy are having their wedding reception at  Wethele Manor near Leamington Spa in October.  We met just recently and had our little catch up.   Helen and Andy are not keen on being photographed but I hope I managed to help them relax just a little.

My next catch up was with Sarah and Antony, who are getting married at  Hampton Manor in Hampton Arden, Solihull.  A fantastic  19th century manor house with lovely grounds. Sarah and Antony brought along their fantastic little boys and we had great fun, running around outside.  Thankfully the rain stayed off too!

Another meeting with the lovley Steph and Alex, who I haven’t seen for a long while following their meeting and subsequent booking.  Steph and Alex are to be married at the  Newton Park Hotel, Newton Solney .   Alex, I think, was enjoying his photo shoot more than Steph.  This seems to be a pattern of late – guys enjoying being photographed more than the girls!

Hinckley Town Centre – A Great Little Town

I have been doing some commercial photography for Hinckley Town Centre Partnership as they work towards the Business Improvement District (BID).  The BID in Hinckley is a new way of managing the town centre and the funding is being spent on marketing, promotions, events etc to help promote the town.  I am not from this area but have lived in Hinckley since 1995.  Personally I think it’s a fantastic little town and having trotted up and down the town centre just recently to take photographs of some of the independent retailers on behalf of the Town Centre Partnership, I have also realised that there are some wonderful, friendly, welcoming shop owners who take great pride in their independent outlets in the town centre.  I have had great fun…
