Boudoir Photography

Have you ever wanted to surprise your loved one with some beautiful intimate photographs that you know he will absolutely adore?  I can photograph you in the comfort of your own home,  using a mixture of natural and studio lighting, to create a set of beautiful, tasteful images that you both will treasure forever.   I really believe that the images should leave ‘a little to the imagination’.   I had so much fun taking photographs of this lady in different areas of her home and I know she enjoyed it so much too.  We bounced ideas off each other and had a real giggle in the process.   And, the added bonus for her is that I am female and so she felt comfortable with me all the way through the photo shoot.  What I wanted to create was a set of images for her that were tasteful and beautiful…

Please call me if you would like a similar photo shoot.  01455 233224.  We can discuss your ideas and inspirations before booking in a mutually convenient date / time for the photo shoot.  boudoir

Trudy & Martyn’s Wedding Day at Coombe Abbey

I recently photographed the wedding of the lovely Trudy and Martyn at the fabulous Coombe Abbey in Warwickshire.  I was very much looking forward  to their wedding as I have met with them both on numerous occasions to discuss their photography requirements.  One of our meetings at the venue was for their pre wedding / engagement photo shoot and it was Trudy and Martyn’s wish that I take as many photographs of them together on their wedding day.  This really  is ‘music to my ears’ as often there isn’t enough time scheduled into the wedding day to spend  time with the couple to take some photographs as well as the standard formal group photographs of  bridal party, close family and friends.    These images below are just a few of my favourites from the day.  Thank you Trudy and Martyn for making me feel so welcome on your special day and for putting aside the time for us to take lots of photographs of the two of you.  I had a fantastic time.

If you are planning your wedding day, and of course booking your photographer, the best piece of advise I could give to you would be to ensure that you set aside around 20 minutes to half an hour of uninterrupted ‘quality’ time for your chosen photographer to take your couple shots.  Trudy and Martyn have some fantastic photographs of themselves, that I know they will truly treasure forever. A Walk Around Town With My Lovely Girls

Maisie, Lydia and photographer Mum went on a little walk around town for an ‘urban’ style mini photo shoot.  Maisie especially loves being photographed now – well, she’s almost 12!  We had lots of fun together, choosing interesting colours, backgrounds etc for taking some shots…  and actually the kids had some great ideas of the type of photographs they wanted to have taken. It was great fun.  If you would like to book a ‘lifestyle’ photo shoot with Lesley Bee at Artography please contact me on 01455 233224.  This style of photography is so relaxed and there is much more freedom to have fun and go a bit mad – far less restrictive than in a studio environment.  This is probably the most relaxed photo shoot ever!maisie lydia 2maisie lydia 3maisie lydia 4maisie lydia 5maisie lydia 1

I Just Love Newborns

I have had a number of newborns and babies at the studio just lately…  makes me kind of broody!  This is little Liam who came along with mummy, daddy and his 2 year old sister.  He hardly made a sound all the way through the photo shoot and then decided to fall asleep mid way through.   I was very tempted to take him home with me.  I love having babies here at the studio, because I get to have a little hold and cuddle too….  I just love the image of  him on his mummy’s shoulder, fast asleep.   Adorable… baby asleep

Lesley Bee at Artography is On the Move…

I will be moving out of my current studio on Station Road, Hinckley at the end of this month,  and will be working from home for a short while until my new studio space is ready.   I have taken a space at the Goddard Building on  Lower Bond Street, Hinckley and hope (fingers crossed) to be moved in by the end of June / early July.   This building is known by the locals in Hinckley as the former Atkins factory.  It’s a beautiful grade 2 listed building and  is currently undergoing a massive refurbishment to bring it back to it’s former glory.  I am delighted to be part of the Creative Hinckley hub and I am very much looking forward to working alongside other creative talents from the Hinckley area.  The building will also have its own exhibition and gallery space, alongside performance and rehearsal areas, and a cafe / bar area.  The new Hinckley College is also currently being built at the back of the main building.

It really is a fantastic building with tall windows providing natural light which is a an added bonus for my photography, as it will enable me to use the natural daylight for some shots, alongside the studio lighting.

If you do wish to have a studio photo shoot in May / June, I do have access to space, so please call if you would like to book.

Watch this space for some photographs of the space…

You Don’t Have To Be Mad To Be Photographed By Lesley Bee At Artography…

… but it does help.

Just once in a while I have a family that arrives in the studio and my job is half done… Kelly had bought a gift voucher for her mum as a Christmas present and came along with her sister, 3 brothers and mum and dad for a studio shoot.  The whole time they were being photographed, they didn’t stop laughing.  My only task was to get them to look at the camera every now and then!!!   They were a sheer joy and I love their final set of images from their photo shoot.   kelly and family 1

Spring Has Sprung…

It’s that time of year when we can get outside more and take advantage of the longer days and look forward to Summer… Get out with your camera and snap the kids being kids.  Or… book Lesley Bee at Artography to photograph them at the park, woods or at home in the garden.    A lifestyle photo shoot is perfect for capturing the true personality of your children and a long lens is just the job to photograph them from a distance.  I call it my ‘paparazzi’ lens, as I can be far enough away from my subject to get natural, fun shots without them even noticing.  These photographs of my daughter Lydia were taken in Formby Pine Woods, near Southport in Merseyside (she’s very fond of having her photograph taken, unlike her mum).  A visit to my aunt’s caravan was just what was needed for me and my family to enjoy some ‘time out’…  I spend most of my weekends working so it really is nice to put some time aside to spend with my lovely hubby and girls – plus my doggy ‘Ollie’.  However, it turned out to be an expensive Easter – we bought our own mobile home during our visit…   We are all very much looking forward to spending time in our new 2nd home this Summer. lydia formby
