It was a great pleasure to shoot some maternity images recently. Kerry is due to have her baby late July and she was a very easy ‘mum to be’ to work with. She was so radiant and relaxed and was happy to work with the ideas I had for the shoot. It was great fun creating some unusual images and I was very proud to present the final images back to her a couple of weeks after the shoot. Kerry has booked a package and will be bringing her newborn baby to meet me some time in August. I am very excited to meet the new arrival.
If you would like to have some photographs taken during your pregnancy please contact me on 01455 233224 to discuss packages on offer. I have developed a couple of options entitiled ‘Watch Me Grow’ which will incorporate a maternity session at around 6-8 months , a newborn photo shoot when baby is just a couple of weeks old. This will be followed up with further photo shoots when your baby is around 3 months old, 6 months and then of course around their first birthday.
It has been a bit hectic lately . I am certainly not complaining, but this has led to being a bit ‘slack’ when it comes to updating my blog. I have done some great shoots lately and hope to upload some favourite images by the end of the week. A recent maternity shoot was great fun and I will uploade a selection of images shortly. I have also worked with a couple of Leicestershire schools running family mini photo shoot fundraiser days. These photo shoots are certainly a real challenge as I never quite know who is going to come through the door. All the bookings are done via the PTA and I receive a list of families a few days before whereby it’s then over to me to take the photographs and liaise with the families afterwards to present their images to them. However, these fundraisers are a super easy way for schools / charities to raise much needed funds. I certainly have to be on my toes with these photo shoot days. I have photographed large / extended families, babies, toddlers, doggies, grandmas, grandads, parrots – you name it! If you are interested in receiving a fundraising pack please contact me on 01455 233224 and I will send one out to you.
I am very much looking forward to doing some Prom Ball photography this Thursday at a local hotel. It’s fantastic fun to photograph the teenagers looking absolutely amazing in their best outfit. I also very much enjoy seeing them arrive in their chosen mode of transport for their party – anything from stretch hummas and limos, fire engines, vespa motorbikes, tractors etc. Great fun!
I will be taking photographs at a summer fair this Saturday for my children’s school, again to help raise funds for the PTA. And I have a wedding fair this Sunday at St Nicholas Place, Kings Norton – http://www.saintnicolasplace.co.uk/content/weddings-and-entertaining so it’s busy, busy, busy for the next couple of weeks. Thankfully I am having a well deserved holiday on 12th July. Some quality time with my hubby and kids will be nice.
As for Hinckley Carnival, the whole day was ‘rained off’. What a shame. However on the day itself it rained non stop from about 7am until around 12 noon – and in my capacity as a committee member, there I was being beaten down by the heavy downpour whilst trying to help decorate the Carnival Queen / Princess float. My 11 year old daughter Maisie was helping too. It was quite clear after about an hour that it was a waste of time. For health and safety reasons the decision was made to cancel the carnival at about 10am and it has now been rescheduled for Sunday 13th September. Fingers crossed that the weather is kinder next time around!
So, for now, that’s the update. Some images to follow.
